National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC), established under the NCC Act of 1948, is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Defence. It aims to develop discipline, leadership, and a sense of selfless service among the youth of India. Through its structured training programmes and engaging activities, NCC grooms students to become responsible citizens and future leaders with a commitment to serving the nation.

At its core, NCC is about fostering unity, discipline, and leadership among students, with the guiding motto:

“Unity and Discipline”

This powerful message inspires cadets to work together harmoniously while maintaining a structured and disciplined approach to life, cultivating a strong sense of responsibility and national pride.

NCC aims to nurture the holistic development of young individuals, equipping them with the skills, values, and leadership qualities necessary to serve their nation and communities. Its primary goals include:

NCC in Action at SDS

At SDS, the NCC unit functions under the 3 Raj Girls Battalion, Jodhpur, with 52 cadets actively participating in training and community initiatives. It provides students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of training and leadership activities:

Training, Syllabus, and Certification

NCC offers a structured training programme that culminates in prestigious certifications:

Duration
    “C” Certificate: Three years of training with 75% attendance in 120 weekly parades and participation in two camps.
    “B” Certificate: Two years of training with 75% attendance in weekly parades and participation in one camp.

Cadets are trained by Army Officers, NCC Officers, and experienced Army Instructors. SSB coaching is also provided to deserving candidates preparing for defence services.
